To make this happen, the JBDB team utilized a contemporary color palette, incorporating board and batten LP siding to add character to the home. Because the existing brick was in such good condition, the homeowners chose to work it into the new design.
Updated front door posts provide a welcoming and stately first impression. The remodel also included all-new energy-efficient Marvin Windows to let the Minnesota sun shine through without letting cold air in! But that isn’t all the windows were good for.
“During our initial design, we decided to swap out a small round window above the garage for a square one,” said Kayleigh Queoff, one of JBDB’s resident designers. “This minor change really helps give the home a more contemporary look and feel, which the homeowners wanted. These details add up to make a big difference to the final result.”
All of these elements, hand-picked by the JBDB team and these Apple Valley homeowners, come together to achieve a brighter exterior that looks friendly and inviting to all who come to visit.
But it wasn’t just the front of the house that got attention. The new siding extends around the back of the house, where JBDB also redesigned the deck. Now, this frequently used spot has a two-tone Azek decking surrounded by sleek black aluminum Railcraft cable rails. The whole look opens up the patio, making it a more desirable spot to spend time together.
The transformation has the homeowners feeling better about how their home fits into the neighborhood. It doesn’t feel so dated and is just as cared for as the interior!
